Notation

The system of symbols describing cube moves (R, U, F, etc.).

• ( ): Brackets group moves together to help memorization, for example (R' F R F').
• ADF (Adjust D Face): Adjusting the bottom layer by turning the D face to align it.
• AUF (Adjust U Face): A turn of the U face (U, U' or U2) done before or after an algorithm to align the top layer.
• B (Back): A face move that turns the back layer of the cube.
• Back Slash: Backslash; notation used to indicate a certain move or stroke.
