MINDMultiplayer is played on 3x3. There are three ways into a match, and all three end up in the same place:
Once the room is full, the server deals the same scramble to every player. Nobody gets a friendlier scramble: it is generated on the server, not on anyone's phone. From there each player solves on their own cube and the results are compared at the end.
Rooms start at 2 players and can open up to 3 and 4. Slots 5 through 8 unlock by winning battles: the more you play, the more people fit.
Connect a smart cube over Bluetooth and you never touch the screen during the match. Kruxmind recognises the cube, checks that the scramble you applied is the one you were dealt, and the timer starts on your first real turn. When you solve it, it stops on its own.
The WCA model applies. After your solve you can mark +2 (if the cube was one turn from solved) or DNF, just like in competition. The penalty is applied after solving, not before, so it never interrupts the match.
Every finished match is recorded. The global ranking sorts players by their history, and matches played with a smart cube are counted separately from hand-timed ones: they do not compete in the same list, because they are not the same test.
When a room is full, anyone with the link can step in and watch it live instead of being turned away. That is how you follow a match between two friends without taking a slot.
Before you enter you pick a warrior — there are 12 — and an arena, out of 9 environments. The arena is the backdrop and weather of your room and only you see it: it changes nothing about the match and your opponent never sees it. It is decoration, and the screen says so, so nobody thinks they are buying an advantage.
There is a chat inside the room to talk to your opponent between rounds.
Separately from online multiplayer, the Kruxmind app includes an in-person 1v1 mode: two people, one phone, alternating turns and the same scramble. No connection and no account needed. They are different things and they coexist: the in-person one is for when your opponent is right next to you.
