How your average is calculated This calculator follows the WCA rules, the same ones used at official competitions. Type the times the judge calls out and you instantly see your average and the time you need on the remaining attempt.
Ao5: five attempts, best and worst are dropped In most events the round result is the average of five attempts: the best and the worst are removed and the middle three are averaged, so a single bad attempt doesn't ruin the round. A DNF counts as the worst time and is dropped; with two or more DNFs the whole average is a DNF.
Mo3 for 6x6 and 7x7 In 6x6 and 7x7 the round is a mean of three attempts with nothing dropped. The calculator picks it from the event, so there's nothing to set up. In a Mo3 a single DNF voids the mean.
The time you need on the remaining attempt While attempts remain, the calculator shows the time you need to bring your average down or to get the best possible Ao5 of the round. It's the arithmetic of the rule, not a prediction.
How to type times Type digits only and the time fills from right to left, like on the judge's sheet: 942 is 9.42 seconds and 12345 is 1:23.45. A +2 adds two seconds to that attempt.
